General Dynamics: 3/2009-present Web 2.0 application for the U.S army using Java, JEE, JSF, and Ajax (ICEFaces). Hibernate database persistence on using the Oracle database with some AOP.
LineSider: 12/2007– 3/2009 Network programming using a variety of protocols. Cisco and 3COM snmp and cli switch programming. Tools used include Java and JBoss(Eclipse), Windows C# and C++(unmanaged ATL), along with LDAP and WMI. Development/deployment platforms are Windows and Linux. LineSider builds a product that provides user network access policy management.
Ravewireless: 2/2007-12/2007 Web (Apache and Tomcat) and stand-alone applications for linking enrollment to student phone messaging and other applications in Java. JUnit, jsp, Hibernate, Struts, Tiles, MySQL. Ravewireless provides integration of student mobile phones (using WAP) with a variety of university functions, databases, and location-based applications.
HiWired: 12/2006-2/2007 Developed and deployed new “packages” of services and client software for HiWired support service customers and partners using C#. Worked with Microsoft Installer and MSBuild to create highly customized network and web installs and builds. HiWired offers remote PC problem support (“virtual Geek Squad”) to end users over the Internet both directly and through partners.
Invensys: 7/2006-12/2006 Project lead for a central monitor in a real time data acquisition system monitoring remote factory control processors. Worked with customers to develop requirement and specification documents.Net Windows services in C#. WMI and NT scripting to perform remote installs, updates, and configuration of control processors. Project included management of offshore developers.
BlackRock: 6/2006-12/2006 Worked with BlackRock web end users to develop specifications and data requirements for incorporating Merrill/Lynch data feeds with those from BlackRock for a new customer web site supported by M/L personnel. Developed a variety of Java (J2EE)programs and perl scripts used for data feeds to Wall St. On Demand, Lipper, and Morningstar services using Solaris servers. Converted existing BlackRock code to feed M/L web pages that replaced the BlackRock site as part of the acquisition of part of M/L.
YesDirect (now NameMedia): 10/2005-5/2006 Systems and applications written in Java for Resin app servers with Apache clients in a load-balanced runtime environment. Java work included Struts, Hibernate, and Ajax, all on Linux servers. Java production JVM and library upgrades from 1.2 to 1.5. Most development done with Intellij Idea, but some Eclipse as well. Some perl and other scripting.
Motorola: 2005 Developer for networked TV set top box Tivo-like system in Java and C++ running under embedded Linux. Introduced Eclipse for Java debugging to the development and test environments along with JNI driver interface development and some Swing configuration utilities to support the latter.
Skillsoft Corporation: 2004-2005 Project leader for presentation designer (Java/Swing) component that called into a variety of Windows Office and other Windows DLLs C# assemblies for document and other services as contributor to a web-based, collaborative e-learning application.
Agencourt Biosciences: 2003-2004 Bioinformatics support software and systems in Perl, Java (JBoss and and Swing), C++ and a variety of data bases. DNA sequencer interface software. Lab device monitoring display system in .Net(C#).
Glasshouse Technologies: 2003-2004 Web application and analysis software (Perl) for SAN and NAS storage and backup systems.
